John P. Welch, President & Chief Executive Officer, XL Reinsurance America Inc., will present the opening keynote address at HB’s (Re)Insurance Industry Outlook 2012 on March 28 in New York.

John has been President & Chief Executive Officer of XL Reinsurance America Inc. since 2006. He is a member of XL’s Reinsurance Executive Group. Formerly, John was Head of Casualty and Surety Underwriting for XL Reinsurance America Inc. From mid 2000 through mid 2004 John was Chief Actuary and Strategic Planning Officer responsible for Pricing and Reserving for all lines of business. He originally joined NAC Re in 1997 as Vice President and Pricing Manager coming from the Travelers/Aetna Property & Casualty Corp. where he held various actuarial positions. John is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Fairfield University.
