Vance Andrus worked as a defense lawyer before founding the plaintiff firm today named Andrus Hood & Wagstaff, and has extensive trial experience both as plaintiff and defense counsel. Presently, Vance serves as National Co-Lead Counsel of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC) in “In Re: Avandia Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation”, MDL no. 1871. He additionally serves as a PSC member, as well as a member of the PSC executive committee in “In Re: Fosamax Products Liability Litigation”, MDL no. 1789. He also serves as a member of the PSC in “In Re: Kugel Mesh Hernia Patch Products Liability Litigation”, MDL no. 1842.
Fred Thompson leads Motley Rice’s medical practice group, managing the firm’s litigation related to defective medical devices, harmful pharmaceutical drugs and medical malpractice as well as overseeing the firm’s nursing home abuse litigation team. In this role, Fred litigates personal injury and economic damage recovery cases on behalf of individuals harmed by negligence, product defects or misconduct. His work has led to his appointment to numerous leadership positions, including plaintiffs’ co-lead counsel in the federal Digitek® consolidation and membership on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committees in the Medtronic Sprint Fidelis® defibrillator lead, Avandia® and Trasylol® federal multidistrict litigation. Fred also serves as chairman of the American Association for Justice’s Digitek® Litigation Group and co-chairman of the Kugel® Mesh Litigation Group. He co-authored “Composix® Kugel® Mesh: A Primer” for the Spring 2008 AAJ Section on Toxic, Environmental & Pharmaceutical Torts newsletter.
Bryan Aylstock specializes in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, having successfully handled thousands of diet drug (Fen Phen), silicone gel breast implant and diabetes drug (Rezulin) cases over the course of his career. Mr. Aylstock limits his practice to the areas of: wrongful death and personal injury and is currently involved in the following matters: Ford Truck Litigation, Vioxx, Fen-Phen and Automobile Negligence.
