June Destination Conference Details Coming Soon, Teleconference set for May 26!
Estimates are that the Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico will cost insurers and reinsurers as much as $1.5 billion. The deaths, injuries, and both environmental and property damage have already sparked three dozen lawsuits.
Given the enormity and complexity of the legal and insurance ramifications, HB is acting quickly to gather the insights of experts and create conferences so attorneys and companies can network and learn.
Our May 26 teleconference — “Oil in the Gulf: Litigation & Insurance Coverage” — will provide the facts surrounding the spill, a review of the claimants and theories of liability, a survey of pending litigation, commentary on relevant precedent, analysis of coverage claims, and discussion of unique state law issues. So far, featured on that program will be Christopher Kende of Cozen O’Connor in New York and Selena Linde of Dickstein Shapiro in Washington, DC.
Destination Conferences in Progress
HB is planning future conferences, with litigation leaders, in hub cities for May or June. These events will be ESSENTIAL for anyone handling cases related to the Gulf Oil spill.
