Greg Thompson – Chief Food Law Counsel at General Mills – has joined the faculty of HB’s upcoming Food, Drug and Medical Device Litigation Conference, which will be held April 23-24 in Minneapolis. Mr. Thompson will discuss the Regulatory Developments Affecting the Food, Drug and Medical Device Industries, along with co-panelists David Royster, Assistant General Counsel at Zimmer, Inc., and Elizabeth Wroe, a Vice President at FaegreBD Consulting.
In his current position at General Mills, Mr. Thompson leads the Food Law Center of Excellence and is responsible for advising the business on a wide variety of food law issues, including health claims, nutrient content claims and structure-function claims. Prior to joining General Mills, he served as Associate Chief Counsel for Foods at the US Food & Drug Administration where he advised the agency on the issuance of warning letters, regulations, guidance documents and responses to petitions for health claims, qualified health claims, nutrient content claims and food additives. He received his BS in Political Science from Dickinson College and his JD from Georgetown University.
HB’s Food, Drug and Medical Device Litigation Forum will be held April 23-24, 2012 at The Grand Hotel in Minneapolis. The faculty includes senior in-house counsel from Target, Cook Group, Hormel Foods, Kellogg, General Mills, Zimmer, and Cargill.
Topics include: Recent regulatory developments; responding to government enforcement actions; resolving claims and mass torts; advertising, labeling and consumer fraud class actions; claims and recalls; recent Supreme Court decisions; crisis management; calculating and presenting damages; judicial insights; and in-house perspectives.
